So I was listening to the radio this week and an interesting fact was hi-lighted to me.
Most emotions like fear are meant to be helpful, i.e. get us out of physical trouble...
For example, if you live near a forrest or a jungle, there can be a real threat from bears...
Having a healthy fear from wild bears is perfectly normal and acceptable
If we ever encountered the bear then the fear, would translate to stress and release cortisol, the fight, flight or freeze hormone...
So, it will be obvious to you when I say for any of the 3 f's, we need energy, right?
Yes, we do, so as the cortisol production kicks in, so does the storage of energy in preparation to do something.... quickly!
Therefore, so that the body can release the energy quickly, it stores it as fat!
Which is great if you are in fight, flight or freeze situation and not if there is long term stress situation.
So if you are exercising, eating healthy and getting plenty of sleep, plus much much more and still have a little bit of a belly or just a little bit more fat in places it doesn't "want" to shift...
Stress really could be a contributing factor. So try something different to relax...
Read, yoga, meditation, walking barefoot in the garden, anything that makes you feel like you again, you never know you might find something you really enjoy!!!
Take care all
